Noe Valley Victorian Redux

A vintage revival —This classic Victorian home was in dire need of rehabilitation, as previous remodeling efforts had narrowed windows and dismantled features that provided the home its original vintage pedigree. A meticulous renovation has both revived the home’s stately appearance and improved the layout to create thoughtful and dramatic living spaces in this coveted Noe Valley location.

Our goal — Reestablish the historic details and proportions of this home and introduce the best in design elements, craftsmanship and materials within a contemporary three-level floor plan.

The highlights

  • Using a reverse floor plan, the top level features an open-plan great room flooded with natural light that showcases soaring high ceilings, recessed lighting and skylights with contemporary custom cabinetry and finish palette.
  • A spacious living room with a large window wall takes advantage of beautiful San Francisco vistas.
  • In addition to a luxurious master suite, four additional bedrooms each have an en suite bath, allowing future owners great flexibility.
  • A landscaped rear yard is accessible from the multi-level deck system and two interior staircases were created to provide easy flow between levels.

The footprint

  • Renovate existing three-story single family home to create 5 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms and finished garage for a total living space of 3,200 sq. ft.
  • Excavation, foundation and structural modifications created new ceiling height on the ground floor to accommodate a bedroom and bathroom opening to the rear garden.
